Go Ask Alice Blog 5

I thought that the book was really good. It was sad that she died, though. At the end of the book she was really starting to put her life back together and then it all ended. I still want to know what actually did happen to her. I want to know how she died. It would be sad if one of the reasons that contributed to her death was that she stopped writing in her diary to let things out. As I was getting nearer to the end of the book, I was wondering how she died, because she seemed to have her life back again. I didn't know what would happen. It bothered me a little to find out that some people think this book is fake, from what I read about online. At the same time it didn't bother me though. I can see how some people would think that the diary was fake, because some of the things that the narrator says, would not be something a fifteen-year old girl would say. In any case though, even if this book is fake, it demonstrates the horrible things that happens to people when they do drugs. This book represents the many kids that have had or still have trouble with drug abuse and other problems. I think that it is a good book to learn from even if it might be fake. It shows the effects of drugs on kids, it shows the consequences that come with drugs, problems that teens have without taking drugs, and it shows how someone can overcome tough times. I thought this was great book and I wish that this girl never had to die.

The reading so far is less intense than diary 1, but at the same time is more intense than diary 1, because of the narrator's big breakdown after accidentally ingesting acid when she was babysitting. It is less intense though, because before the acid episode the narrator wasn't really taking drugs anymore and she had met Joel, who is very nice, and she was getting along with her family and doing well in school. She did have trouble with being harassed by Jan and other kids at school, though. Everything seemed to be going all right for the narrator until the moment she ingested acid at a babysitting job. It all went downhill from there. She ended up in a hospital all cut up and hurt. The descriptions that she gave about the way she looked were really horrible. I still had no idea what had happened, though! I was quite confused. At the moment she is in an "insane asylum" according to herself. I'm starting to wonder what eventually killed her, because I can't really think of anything. Maybe drug overdose or something else. I don't know, because right now I don't think she can get drugs where she is. So, I'm waiting to find out more about her life and what happens. The book is really good so far.
